This romantic husband and wife session on the Oklahoma River was epic! Makayla and Kodiak were married on March 20th earlier this year. They were scheduled to have their ceremony and reception at the CHK|Central Boathouse overlooking the Oklahoma River. However, COVID had other plans for them. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to hold their original wedding as planned but instead were married at Makayla’s grandparents house.
The fact that these two dropped all of their plans and chose to move forward with an impromptu wedding with just a few of their family members was so inspiring. Makayla sent me a few photos and they brought tears to my eyes. So much joy and happiness in the midst of darkness! What a gift it was to receive those iPhone photos.
Makayla reached back out to me a few months later asking if we could do a husband and wife session on the river! I was absolutely thrilled! What a way to make the best of their situation! They were able to get a little taste of what it would have been like with their original wedding plans. Although it was certainly not the same for them, I know these photos mean the world to them. Spending the evening with these two was so enjoyable and I know they have an exciting future ahead as husband and wife!
Congratulations Makayla and Kodiak! Thinking of you two and wishing you a full and happy marriage! If you can make it through getting married in COVID, you can make it through anything!
