These two have such a sweet history and go way back as you can probably tell! They were so natural and sweet in front of the camera. Jana and Tom met in Spain during a high school study abroad program. Jana is from Norfolk, VA while Tom is from Iowa! They stayed in touch over the years and eventually decided to officially date! After dating for some time, Tom proposed to Jana in Spain 10 years later… yes friends, cue the “awww”.

Since Jana and Tom are DC locals, they chose to have their engagement session in two of their favorite nearby places, Del Ray and Alexandria. We started off in Del Ray at The Dairy Godmother for ice cream! These two wanted to incorporate ice cream into their shoot and I think we got some great shots to show off their fun personalities. After roaming around Del Ray for a bit, we finished out their engagement session at Old Town Alexandria walking the cobblestone streets and waterfront. I loved walking around this area so much! There was so much charm and class everywhere we looked. Jana and Tom had the perfect outfits to go with all of the southern charm! The pink blooms also added a gorgeous pop of color to their photos.

These two will be tying the knot at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Virginia this October and I cannot wait! Congrats to Jana and Tom on their engagement! I’m looking so forward to capturing their wedding this fall!
